In order to assist hospitality house professionals in gaining the critical BLS certification from the American Heart Association, participants at the 2018 HHN Conference can register for the skills course to be provided by the Health Education Network. CPR certification is a requirement of the Certified House Professional program. Registration is required by August 31, 2018
Complete details:Basic Life Support (BLS) Skills cost $50 and includes one hour hands-on session and card (see form for complete information) HeartCode BLS uses the latest eSimulation technology to enable students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. Utilizing a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities, this course teaches BLS knowledge and skills. This method of learning provides training consistency, adaptability to different learning styles, and flexibility for the student’s and employer’s time. Students can work at their own pace applying their knowledge to real-time decision making and skills development. Blended training also supports the need for hands-on learning of psychomotor skills. Debriefings and coaching are provided immediately after each simulation. Once the cognitive portion of the course has been completed, students practice and test their skills with an AHA Instructor or on a voice-assisted manikin (VAM) system. Heart Saver CPR AED: Skills cost $60 and includes one hour hands-on session and card The AHA's Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care and the 2015 American Heart Association and American Red Cross Update for First Aid. This course is designed to prepare students to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. This is the eLearning portion of the Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED blended learning course and is designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for first aid, CPR, and AED training. Upon successful completion of both the online and hands-on portions of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years.
