ABOUT THE CERTIFIED HOSPITALITY HOUSE (CHH) PROGRAM:

This program provides members with access to our online learning management system, which contains over 1,600 valuable educational courses specifically useful for our industry.  
 

COST: the subscription is based on the number of rooms and the cost is an annual subscription that includes one user. 



 

SEVEN CORE CATEGORIES:

In order to achieve the CHH designation, organizations are required to fulfill continuing education units in seven core categories. The seven categories are:
1. OPERATIONS: Business skills and effective use of resources are a prime component in successful house management. Hours in this area focus on business fundamentals critical to efficient process development effective use of resources, business skills, asset management, and successful house management.
2. FACILITY MANAGEMENT: This category focuses on facility management specific trainings including architecture, design, expansion, and proactive maintenance programs.
3. GUEST RELATIONS: Positive relationships and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Hours in this category include relationship and dialogue development, death and dying for healthcare professionals, communal living, conflict resolution, compassion fatigue. 
4. NON PROFIT MANAGEMENT: Hours in this category are critical to successful mission delivery and include building your ideal board of directors, efficacy and feasibility studies, fundraising, development, and annual and impact reports.
5. HUMAN RESOURCES: Hours in this category focus on employee relations, staff development, recruitment, orientation, and retention.
6. INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT: hours in this category include trainings where the candidate has learned about oneself in a formal, structural way. Hours in this category include self-care, compassion fatigue, trauma stewardship, empathy training, emotional intelligence.
7. EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT: Hours in this category are focused on having policies and processes in place to ensure the well-being and safety of guests, volunteers, visitors, and staff. Topics include: natural disaster planning, active shooter drills, etc.
